Sora Lodge Lalibela is a German-Ethiopian family-run hotel that has been open since October 2013. We have modern, spacious single, double and twin rooms with hot showers, comfortable beds and large verandas.

 

We are located within 15 minutes walking distance of the Southern group of churches and 20 minutes from the Northern group of churches and offer daily shuttles from Lalibela Airport (about 35 minutes by car).

 

The lodge occupies a spectacular hillside location offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. All rooms have two large verandas facing towards east and west from where our guests can see Lalibela’s biggest mountain, “Asheten Mariam”, and watch the sunrise and sunset.

 

We have a large compound with beautiful gardens that are an ideal place to explore, enjoy the tranquility, and watch eagles and lammergeyers circling over the valley.

 

Our restaurant, which is built in the shape of a traditional thatch-roofed “tukul”, sits on the edge of an escarpment commanding a 270° view. Here, Western and Ethiopian breakfast, lunch and dinner is served according to our guests’ wishes and needs.
